Posted on Aug 11 , 2011 in Junior Confirmation
In 2011 Pr. St-Onge is introducing a new religion curriculum for Memorial Lutheran School’s 7th grade class. The workbook for the curriculum is available here, with the understanding that some items in the workbooks are in draft form and are not to be circulated. If you wish to use this workbook, please contact Pr. St-Onge. The curriculum incorporates both Old and New Testaments and Luther’s Small Catechism, as well as an approach that teaches the Bible’s authority in historical matters such as the creation of the world.

Junior Confirmation
Posted on Nov 11 , 2010 in About Study & Junior Confirmation
Memorial’s junior confirmation program is designed to prepare 7th and 8th graders to confess their faith publicly and be admitted to the Lord’s supper in late spring of their 8th grade year. 7th and 8th grade members who attend Memorial Lutheran School receive their instruction as part of the regular curriculum. Students who are members but do not attend the school receive instruction Sunday evenings from 5 to 6:30 PM. Both Pastor St-Onge and Pastor Murray teach the class, alternating years of instruction. Students will memorize the essentials of the Small Catechism including the 10 Commandments, the Apostles’ Creed, and the Lord’s Prayer and their explanations, and gain a deeper understanding of the Sacraments of Baptism and the Altar and of Confession and Absolution.

Download the junior confirmation 2010 memory work for each week. It is assumed that students will remember the memory work from past weeks as instruction goes on; the class will build on what has been learned previously.
