An LCMS Lutheran Ladies retreat will be held Friday through Saturday October 14 to 16, 2011 in St. Benedict, Louisiana.  Pastor Charles St-Onge will lead us in a series of discussions on how to “defend our faith.”  The retreat begins on Friday at 6:30 PM with supper, and ends on Sunday at 1:00 PM.  The retreat will include Divine Service on Sunday morning, led by Pastor St-Onge.  The cost for the event, which includes housing at St. Joseph’s Abbey, will be $155.  To register, or for more information, please complete the form below:

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League Bayou City Zone will have their annual Prayer Service at Memorial Lutheran Church on Saturday morning, March 5th.  A light breakfast will be served starting at 9:30 AM, with the service to start at 10 AM.

Stamps from your Christmas Cards can fund shipping costs for Lutheran World Relief! The goal of the LWR’s Stamporee is to support the LWR Project Comfort, which provides funding for the shipping of goods to those in need around the world. MLC’s LWIM is collecting cancelled postage stamps in a box in the narthex this year.  Please save all you can. Here are a few pointers about saving stamps:

• Buy and use commemorative stamps, since they are worth more than common stamps.
• Save all canceled stamps.
• If trimming from envelopes, leave at least 1/4 inch of envelope around stamp. Sorting into categories or weighing is not necessary. Do not soak off!

The LWIM of Memorial is a part of The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.  Memorial’s LWIM organizes a rummage sale for the church each year which raises money for various mission projects.  It also participates in the twice-yearly rallies organized by the Bayou City Zone of the LWML.
