From the Vicar
God invites us to enter His rest. God's rest is not limited to a specific day, or determined by our abstention from work. God's rest is found in Jesus Christ, the Lord of the Sabbath. In Jesus we find true repose. Jesus removes the yoke of our sin, does the work that we could not, and removes our anxiety regarding the future through the certainty of His resurrection.
Rest in Christ comes as a gift given through God's proclamation of forgiveness, our dwelling in Christ through Baptism, and the refreshment of Christ's body and blood. These means, received through faith, make us partakers in God's rest.
