Farewell Breakfast for Martha
As you may have heard, long-time member, sister in Christ, MLS teacher, altar guild chair, and friend, Martha Fredenburg has taken a call to Immanuel Lutheran in Giddings, TX. Her last Sunday will be THIS Sunday, 29 July. Please join us between the services for a breakfast to wish her the best in her new adventure.
From the Vicar
Take Courage!
The weather suddenly changes. Although some of Jesus' disciples are experienced fishermen, none of them are ready for a windstorm to erupt on the Sea of Galilee.
It seems as though they will be consumed by the waters, dragged down to the depths of She'ol. Where is God? The God who can tread the very waves that now threaten their lives (Job 9:8)?
And then, to make matters worse, a figure walking on the water passes them. "A phantom!" they think. Surely a shade from the dead!
But then the figure speaks: "Take courage; I AM. Stop being afraid!" The figure is no phantom, it is God Himself! The winds cease as the divine figure enters their boat, and with amazement the disciples finally recognize Him: it is Jesus.
So it is for the Christian. Take courage! United to the Lord in Baptism, He is with us no matter what we face.

VBS Children Sing at MLC
Sunday, 29 July 2018, 11:00 AM

The VBS children will sing at MLC during the 11:00 AM Service. Please have your child in the MLC Sanctuary balcony, ready to rehearse at 10:40 AM.
As the children will remain in the balcony for the entirety of the Service, Pastor Ahlman and chaperones will provide supervision. Parents may pick-up your child in the balcony at the conclusion of the Service.
Many thanks in advance for the hard work your child has done in making music in the Lord's name!
