Join us as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Pastor Murray here at MLCS.
BBQ and good fellowship are on the menu for 16 October after late service in the Fellowship Hall and Commons.
Our improved organ will also be rededicated following the BBQ at 2:00 PM. Join us in the Sanctuary for a short service and music that showcases our organ's new sounds.
From the Pastor
The Pattern of Sound Words
In this Sunday's epistle reading, Paul exhorts Timothy to follow the pattern of sound words that he has received from the Apostle.  The reason why Paul exhorts Timothy to follow the pattern of sound words is not because Paul is interested in self-promotion, but rather because Paul has received this pattern of sound words from Christ himself (1 Corinthians 11 and 15).
While the pattern of sound words is not precisely expressed in this place, we know the content.  The pattern begins with the revelation of the one true God, who is three persons (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit).  The pattern includes the Creation (including the Law), The Fall, the Gospel (the death and resurrection of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins), the Sacraments, and life everlasting with God.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ stick to the pattern of sound words!  For in them and nowhere else you come to know God and what He has done for you.
