Give Life
The last few Mays, we held blood drives and MLC donated a total of 85 units of blood to the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. These were record years for MLC as we were donating in honor of a fellow member. It's that time of year again-- let's keep up our record-breaking streak! Please consider donating blood THIS SUNDAY on 1 May between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM in our school gym. Sign up for a time slot by contacting Tessa by responding to this email, or 713 782 6079,  or visit the gym to see if there are available spots- we have 9 left!
Thank you to those of you who will take a few minutes of your time to GIVE LIFE.
From the Pastor
Only One Way!
The question posed by Thomas in our gospel text is valid for innumerable people in the modern context: How can we know the way? This question is not only sincere but also vital. If a person does not know the way, his journey to the spiritual destination will be in turmoil. It is also important to know that human beings are incapable of finding the right spiritual way without God. When Jesus answered the question, He revealed that He is the only way. Not a way- That means there is no other way! He is the only truth. Not a truth- That means there is no other truth! He is the only life.  Not a life- That means there is no other life! When God speaks the truth, our hearts are not troubled. Indeed, they are comforted. The way is clear now.  It is the one way only that takes us to our destination. Amen.

Sunday School Volunteer Sign-Up
Thank you for serving! Sign-up online here for the class/dates you would like to co-teach - one or more than one as your schedule permits. There will be two volunteers per class with the exception of the 2 year old class where parents attend with their kids, so you don't have to go it alone. A reminder e-mail will be sent and a copy of the lesson for each class you sign up for will be provided along with the Guidelines for Summer Sunday School. Must be 17 years old or older to sign up. Must sign MLC Youth Protection Policy prior to teaching. If we do not have all spaces filled by FRIDAY 27 May, at 12:00 PM then classes for Summer will have to be cancelled. Questions? Contact Rev. Gaub 713 782 4022 Chairman, Board of Parish Education.
If you have suggestions about things that you'd like to see in the Memorial Messenger, please let the office staff know. We would love to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Rev. Dr. Scott R. Murray
