|Nicaragua Clothing Donations|
The Nicaragua mission team is seeking donations of children's clothing to take to Nicaragua this summer. Many of the children we work with have only one set of clothing and no shoes. Your used children's clothing will be an incredible blessing to these children. Please bring your donation to the church on any Sunday during May. These can be given directly to John Coulter. Please contact John at 832 264 4017 or at John.S.Coulter@gmail.com with any questions you have regarding the Nicaragua mission.
Peace be with You
On the evening of our Lord's resurrection from the grave, Jesus appeared to his disciples who were hiding in fear.
The disciples saw what had happened to Jesus and they did not want to suffer such an end. Just a few days prior, they had all pledged their lives to him, to die with him if necessary. When the time and the opportunity came to fulfill that pledge, the disciples did not follow through. They abandoned Jesus.
On the evening of the resurrection, Jesus seeks out the disciples in their hiding places. What are his first words to these wayward disciples? Were they words of rebuke for their faithlessness? No! Jesus' first words to the disciples are:
"Peace be with you!"
They did not deserve this blessing. Nevertheless, the Lord still blesses them. He brings peace to them. Why would Jesus do such a thing? Jesus does it not because of who they were, but because of who he is. His whole purpose in taking on human flesh was to secure our forgiveness and restore us to God. Jesus died. Jesus rose. It is now our Lord's greatest pleasure to share His gifts with those who so desperately need them. He shares his peace with the disciples. He shares it with you.
Christ is risen!
